It is surprising how little room is needed to create a Formal Area. Pick an area tucked away, out of the way, down the side, out of direct sight. Put a point of interest or two at the entrance to entice visitors to drift that way. Then build something to suit the area. Feature in the center or rear center, don’t forget The Importance of Paving to create the Formal feel. Mass Plantings also look very effective.
