Formal garden’s

are often characterised by well-defined structure and geometry, often focussing on symmetry and easily recognisable ground patterns around a central axis or pathway. Often the central axis is a structure, sculpture or water feature for effect as well as a focal point.

Formal garden

The main planting design uses hedges (to help define boarders, edges and space around the garden) and grasses (which can act visually like a shrub or stiff and formal depending on the variety). While small boarder plants can be used to soften edges.
